We seek a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse. This role will be responsible for providing direct patient care, administering medications, assisting with treatments and procedures, and ensuring the well-being of patients in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive physical and mental health assessments of patients, including gathering medical history, assessing psychiatric symptoms, and evaluating risk factors.
- Treatment Planning: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients, including medication management, psychotherapy referrals, and other therapeutic interventions.
- Medication Administration: Administer psychiatric medications as prescribed by the healthcare provider, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and educate patients and their families about medication usage, side effects, and precautions.
- Patient Education: Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, coping strategies, and community resources available for support.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Implement therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral techniques, relaxation exercises, and stress management strategies, to assist patients in managing their symptoms and improving their overall well-being.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including nursing assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, following legal and ethical standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration with members of the healthcare team, as well as with external providers, community agencies, and support networks involved in the patient's care.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the delivery of psychiatric nursing care, monitoring outcomes, and implementing evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes.
- Professional Development: Stay abreast of advances in psychiatric nursing practice through continuing education, professional development activities, and participation in relevant conferences and workshops.
Qualifications:
- Valid license as a registered nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
Working Conditions:
- Outpatient psychiatric clinics or community mental health centers.
- Regular daytime hours with occasional evenings, depending on clinic hours and patient needs.
- Exposure to patients with diverse mental health diagnoses and varying levels of acuity.
