Your Impact and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall management of the Assisted Living in the absence of the Administrator.
- Interacts with the Administrator in annual budget preparation.
- Develops, maintains, and continuously upgrades standards for nursing care practice, nursing policy and procedure manuals and written job descriptions for each level of nursing personnel.
- Develops systems to provide for orientation, training, on-going education, and in-services for all nursing personnel.
- Assigns duties, oversees scheduled work, and provides annual performance evaluations on all nursing personnel.
- Develops staffing standards and mechanisms for maintaining adherence to these staffing standards.
- Coordinates nursing services with allied services for continuity of resident care.
- Accompanies physician on rounds when needed and stays informed of special orders concerning residents.
- Orders, or directs ordering of drugs, solution, and equipment and maintains records of narcotics.
- Oversees the individual responsible for review of doctor's orders and medication regime for all nursing care residents.
- Oversees and participates in quarterly Quality Assurance and Infection Control meetings.
- Evaluates residents for the need to transfer to a different level of care.
- Should be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or is responsible for delegation of another nurse to be available in his/her absence.
- Tracks and trends falls and medication errors.
- Oversees staffing, PPD's and overtime.
- Manages RN's and LPN's.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of nursing services in Assisted Living.
- Other duties as required.
- Fluent in the English language.
- Proficient with computers.
- Compassionate and understanding when working with older adults, their families, physicians, and others.
- Speaks well in public, image oriented, caring, and concerned about the older adult population.
- Responds to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Valid Oklahoma Nursing License in good standing, RN or LPN
- 2-3 years related experience and/or training.
- 5 or more years of long-term care experience with geriatric patients is preferred.
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certification
