Job Description

DIY Media Group has an immediate opening for a Silkscreen and Offset Printer in the CD plant of our Pennsauken, NJ facility. In this onsite role, you will operate Kamman offset and silkscreen printing machines for CD printing (training provided). The ideal candidate must have an eye for detail to ensure high quality work and identify printing defects such as spots, alignment, and registration issues. Additionally, candidates must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment. Within this role you will be required to handle multiple simultaneous tasks such as working on a large machine while also creating printing plates. Prior experience with machine operation and color management is a plus.

Responsibilities / Tasks:

  • Operate production equipment for printing on CDs and associated support equipment
  • Prepare and burn printing plates with the computer-to-plate process
  • Verify color and alignment of printing jobs, making sure to holding color and registration
  • Set up jobs; clean squeegees and flood bars; retrieve screens, inks and unprinted CDs; and prepare jobs for printing
  • Update computer logs on completed workflow
  • Communicate verbally or in writing about process changes and equipment failures
  • Assist in keeping equipment and work area clean and hazard free
  • Wear proper PPE and garments at all time while working in hazardous areas
  • Monitor the quality of product and reports all variations to manager
Requirements:

Special Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply basic safety rules and practices
  • Ability to identify color variation
  • Ability to work independently and succeed in a multi-tasking environment with minimal supervision.
  • Computer literacy a must
  • Good arithmetic skills
  • Ability to weigh and measure accurately

Physical Demands:

  • Standing 90% or more of shift (8 hours daily)
  • Ability to see defects—eyesight naked, corrected, or assisted
  • Walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, gripping, and carrying up to 50 lbs
