Substitute Teacher

Northside Christian Academy is a Christian School that seeks to educate the students in a spiritual and academic environment. The substitute teacher is a professing Christ follower who is active in a local evangelical church & is responsible for giving instructions and organizing the classroom environment so as to enhance student learning during the period of absence of the regular classroom teacher. This is a contractor position to be filled as needed by the classroom teacher(s).

Responsibilities: 

• He/she must work off of teacher lesson plans, take attendance, give out classwork and assignments and ensure effective discipline and classroom control.
• He/she will provide daily reports to give account of any information pertaining to the events of the day.
• At the commencement of the school day, substitute teachers are expected to report to the school administrative office and collect the appropriate materials and schedule of classes. 
• At the end of the school day, he/she is required to return the materials to the school office.

Qualifications: 

• Professing Christ follower
• Active member of a local evangelical church
• College degree preferred but not required
• Ability to comply with written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to create an efficient working relationship with other personnel
• Proficiency in maintaining efficient classroom management skills
• Full capability to give instructions while the regular teacher is absent

The rate of pay is $100.00 per full day ($ 50 for half a day or $10 an hour if less).  Payroll is direct deposited and paid bi-weekly.  The hours are 7:30AM - 3:00 PM.  The substitute role is a 1099 Contractor role which means the substitute will be responsible for paying taxes on any money earned $600.00 and above. Due to this role being a contractor, we require the substitute to pay for the pre-screening background check, the cost is $10 and can be deducted from the first check.
