Nurse Manager

Primary Purpose: Work cooperatively with the Medical Director and other medical staff in the management of the medical component of the residential program. Manage, supervise, and evaluate all nursing staff. Interprets and meets regulatory program qualifications as defined by the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and other regulatory agencies.
Licenses, Certificates, or Registrations: NYS Registered Nurse Certificate or NYS Nurse Practitioner and CPR certification.
Experience Requirements: Must have a minimum of five years nursing experience, and three years progressive supervisory or related experience. Experience in the field of substance use disorder treatment strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provides clinical direction to nursing staff, ensuring that intake procedures, treatment progress notes, and discharge planning in reference to medication protocol are conducted according to ACCA policies and that all documentation is completed in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Manages, supervises, develops, trains, and evaluates program staff ensuring that all standards and regulations are met.
- Directs intake medical staff in the screening of clients, gathering of necessary admission information, and observation of physical and mental status as it relates to potential ACCA clients for medical necessity.
- Assesses for medically supervised withdrawal services for clients appropriate for the stabilization element of care.
- Makes regular site visits to all residential programs to assist medical staff.
- Facilitates the continuum of services within ACCA's residential programs to ensure quality of care.
- Maintains continued adherence of medical policies and procedures within the residential program.
- Assists Medical Director and all medical staff in preparation for NYS OASAS site reviews and inspections from all entities as needed.
- Ensures confidentiality and safety/security of all residential clients and the facility.
- Prepares necessary reports/records as required.
- Assumes responsibility for managing and reporting incidents per the ACCA incident reporting plan.
- Communication to local ambulance service, fire department, police, or CDPC, as needed.
- Attends required staff meetings and training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skill and Knowledge Requirements:
- Strong leadership qualities and managerial skills.
- Working knowledge of OASAS regulations, fiscal and statistical reporting.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate.
- Ability to effectively represent the ACCA diverse communities.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks and effectively handle conflicts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Software: Word, Excel, Internet, Email Programs.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
