Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSEEKING INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINE OPERATOR FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE
Openwork is currently assisting a local client in search to fill a Industrial Sewing Machine Operator position in the Southeast area of Houston(77023). You will be responsible for demonstrating sound knowledge of various fabrics, and sewing techniques. Ultimately, an outstanding Industrial Sewing Machine Operator should be able to achieve exceptional customer service and ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Schedule: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities for a Industrial Sewing Machine Operator job include:
  • Accurately measuring customers using tape measures to ensure proper fit of garments.
  • Altering or repairing customers' garments and other articles, which includes hemming, sewing patches, mending, lengthening, as well as taking in and letting out seams.
  • Constructing garments and other articles according to customers’ specifications and preferences.
  • Communicating with customers to determine their specifications, needs, and preferences.
  • Using irons and pressing machines to erase the creases on garments and other articles.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively as a team with a positive attitude

Qualifications:
  • 1 + years of recent Industrial Sewing Machine Operator experience
  • Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques.
  • The ability to safely use Industrial sewing machines
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
