LOCATION: Savannah, GA

CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, On-site


POSITION SUMMARY

Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is actively seeking a Human Resources Generalist with proven experience supporting Department of Defense Federal Contractors to join our dynamic team in Herndon, VA. As the Human Resource Generalist, you will play a vital role in various functions of the Human Resource department, including talent management, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations and reporting.


RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

As the HR Generalist, you will be responsible for preparing offer letters, new hire packages for employee onboarding, termination letters, memorandums for employee transfers, salary changes, promotions, etc. You will also assist with benefits administration, including medical, PayFlex, LTD, STD, life insurance, 401k administration and COBRA. To be successful in this opportunity, you will need to cultivate a habit of double-checking data accuracy, multitasking effectively, and maintaining a deep understanding of HR policies and practices. Other responsibilities include the following:

  • Prepare and submit government-mandated reporting, including EEO-1, VETS-4212, AAP, SARs for 401k, E-Verify, ACA 1095-C's and 1094-C's, and CA SB 973(?).
  • Oversee Human Resources compliance with the Corp Quality Management Program (ISO9001) and review HR's performance on key metrics quarterly.
  • Maintain personnel files for Corporate and offsite locations, updating and managing HR/personnel data in CostPoint (Accounting system) and ADP Workforce Now (HRIS).
  • Generate monthly reports in ADP for employee census, performance and salary reviews, open requisitions, and create reports as requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible professional human resources experience.
  • Proficient and experienced working with ADP's Workforce Now system and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • General knowledge of human resources principles and practices, including recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and employee development.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and evaluate departmental human resources programs.
  • Tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential personnel issues.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers and carriers.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possession of PHR/SPHR certification, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification, or other relevant certifications preferred.
