Commissioning Engineer

Efficient Energy Compliance is looking for several qualified professionals dedicated to combating climate change by decarbonizing buildings and providing resilient solutions for new building systems.

As a crucial part of our expanding team, this role will be contributing to EEC’s services of commissioning, retro-commissioning, energy auditing, and resiliency retrofits in the NYC area.

We are seeking qualified individuals who will demonstrate the ability to complete the following tasks with the technical and interpersonal skills outlined below:

Responsibilities

• Provide commissioning services for new construction and existing building retrofits
• Perform retro-commissioning for existing buildings
• Collaborate with other internal team members, building owners, building developers, engineers, contractors, architects, etc.

1. Review construction documents during all phases of construction to provide recommendations that reduce energy consumption, increase comfort, are financially lucrative, and meet Owner’s Project Requirements
2. Develop testing sheets based on specifications, submittals, construction schedule, and code requirements
3. Periodically inspect building systems’ installation
4. Observe and perform major and minor equipment functional testing
5. Provide written technical and non-technical reports for compliance and as needed

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• CBCP certification by AEE or equivalent
• CEM certification by AEE
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Proficient in NYC Energy Code and ASHRAE Standards
• Knowledge of NYC Local Laws 84, 87, 88, 95, and 97

Preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficient in LEED Rating Systems
• Professional Engineer NYS license
