We are seeking a skilled Surface Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces for coating, applying coatings, and ensuring the quality of finished surfaces.


Responsibilities:


  • Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as necessary.
  • Operate surface treatment equipment such as sandblasters, chemical applicators, and pressure washers.
  • Apply coatings to surfaces using spray guns, rollers, or brushes, ensuring even coverage and proper adhesion.
  • Perform quality inspections on coated surfaces to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot surface treatment equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Keep accurate records of surface preparation and coating activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Communicate with supervisors and other departments to coordinate workflow and address any issues or concerns.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in surface preparation and coating application, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with surface treatment equipment and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.

Working Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm
