We are hiring a Technical Writer for one of our clients in Trenton, NJ.

Job Description:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to capture and document standard operating procedures.
  • Write, clear, concise, and comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures that outline step-by-step procedures, roles, responsibilities, and key metrics.
  • Create, develop, and organize program manuals to ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance.
  • Document processes, workflows, and best practices to create user-friendly manuals and guides to facilitate training and knowledge transfer.
  • Develop program manuals and guides to accompany software applications and database management systems.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating existing documentation to reflect changes in processes, systems, or regulations.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and resources based on documented procedures and manuals.
  • Job responsibilities in Brief Policy, planning, and program support

Experience Required:

  • Experience with policy writing and drafting; Proficiency in reading and distilling federal and state-level legislative policy for public audiences;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially on virtual interfaces;
  • Ability to coordinate and be accountable for multiple tasks simultaneously and independently;
  • Ability to work in face-paced environment; Strong attention to detail;
  • Enjoys collaborating with teams; Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion;
  • Maturity, professionalism development; Capable of "managing up" to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Technology or a related field. Additional education and/or work experience in the areas of Public Policy, Education, Workforce Development, and/or Other Related Field

Work hours:

  • 8:30AM 4:30PM or 9:00AM to 5PM (must be flexible)
  • Lunch period (Unpaid):1 Hour, 12-1

Additional information:

  • Dress Code: Business Casual (50%) and Business Attire (50%)
  • Office or Remote: In person, hybrid offered later
  • Parking: Adjacent parking lot
