Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care and attention to animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising according to established schedules and protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennel areas, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for animals.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff promptly.
- Assist with handling and restraining animals during examinations and procedures as directed by veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
- Administer medications and treatments to animals under the supervision and direction of veterinary staff.
- Assist with bathing, grooming, and basic grooming procedures as needed.
- Assist clients by answering basic inquiries and providing information about clinic services.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Previous experience in animal care or veterinary environment preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Passion for working with animals and providing compassionate care.
- Ability to handle and restrain animals in a gentle and effective manner.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
