The Sanctuary Model is a blueprint for clinical and organizational change, which, at its core, promotes safety and recovery from adversity through the active creation of a trauma-informed community. The Model promotes a culture of safety and well-being for those the organization supports and the organization overall. The Sanctuary Model is being used across a wide range of settings, including residential treatment, juvenile justice, drug and alcohol treatment, school, and community -based programs, hospitals, domestic violence and homeless shelters, as well as State systems. The Sanctuary Institute Faculty leads an organization through a series of steps to align the practices, attitudes and philosophies of an organization toward a trauma-informed perspective.
Job Overview of Sanctuary Institute Faculty Trainer/Consultant
The Sanctuary Faculty Member is responsible for planning, developing, monitoring, and delivering training and consultation services to organizations utilizing the Sanctuary Model. This position is responsible for guiding organizations through successful implementation of The Sanctuary Model.
Essential Duties of Sanctuary Institute Faculty Trainer/Consultant
Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for supporting customer organizations with Sanctuary Model implementation from Climate Assessment and readiness through Certification and beyond.
- Provide phone and on-site consultation in relation to contracted organizations Coordinate scheduling of all consultation and training visits well in advance to allow for planning and participation.
- Ensure customer agencies are on track with respect to implementation timelines as provided in the Implementation Guide.
- Writing of reports (Climate Assessment, Pre-Certification Assessment and Certification Reports) in a timely manner. This includes entering notes into Salesforce documenting efforts and connections with the customer.
- Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate consortium calls
- Develop and execute booster trainings for customers implementing The Sanctuary Model, including participating in delivering Social Learning Sessions.
- Support organizations in determining data collection methods.
- Monthly (or more frequent) supervision meetings with Sr. Director
- Monthly contract meetings with Director of Business Operations
- Maintains orderly files and records with regard to tracking of service delivery.
- Documentation of contacts (phone, email and in-person) are entered into Salesforce database in a timely manner
- Complete expense reporting, including uploading and provision of receipts and documentation of expenses for all services within in the timelines prescribed
- Responsible for making travel arrangements using the Sanctuary Institute system and adhering to contracted guidelines for airfare/meals etc.
- Facilitate the Five Day trainings and special events both internally for Andrus staff and externally for customer organizations, including webinars, workshops, conference presentations and virtual offerings.
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director or Director of Business Operations.
- Supports overall strategic plan of the organization
- Ability to adhere to our organization's core values and commitments
Essential Qualifications of Sanctuary Institute Faculty Trainer/Consultant
Key qualifications include:
- Graduate degree required; LCSW/LMHC/LMFT or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of practice with The Sanctuary Model
- Minimum 1 year experience of facilitation and group trainings
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills with exceptional presentation skills
- Must be able to manage assigned technology, including cell phone and laptop
- Hours are based on client need; overnight travel and flexibility is a must
- Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs

Physical/Travel Requirements of Sanctuary Faculty Trainer/Consultant
- Must have ability to travel (air and land) up to 75% of the time; weekend and overnight travel required
- Valid passport and driver’s license; own car or transportation is required
- Must be able to reach, walk, sit, climb stairs, bend, lift up to 25lbs
