Responsibilities

The Whitley County Family YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic substitute gymnastics instructor to join our team, who will lead toddlers and school-age children through 30-minute classes that introduce young children (3-11 years old) to body awareness and movement in order to learn basic gymnastics movements.

  • Serve: Maintain an environment that is safe and efficient; respond to emergencies when needed, and make responsible judgments with regard to participant and/or program area conduct.
  • Care: Include all students and emphasize a focus on each participant’s unique capabilities.
  • Lead: Responsible for monitoring and keeping track of program participants and enforcing all program rules and policies.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

  • At least 16 years old.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent human relations skills and enthusiasm.
  • An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
  • Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary: Part-time $11.75 - $12.25 hourly

Hours Available: Thursday 4:00 pm-7:30 pm and Friday 9:00 am-11:00 am
