The Role and Responsibilities

As a Mechatronics Engineer, your primary focus is on hands-on technical work and troubleshooting. You play a pivotal role in driving the company's success by integrating mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering to develop and optimize our advanced machinery and systems. This role demands a deep understanding of robotics, control systems, and software engineering, along with exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and innovative thinking skills. Your Key Areas of Impact

Technical Implementation: You implement, test, and maintain mechatronic systems, including mechanical components, electronic circuits, and software integration. This involves creating detailed technical drawings, schematics, and documentation for system designs, ensuring precision and adherence to industry standards. Your work is fundamental to the maintenance of high-performance mechatronic products that meet our quality expectations and customer needs, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure all systems are optimized for performance and reliability.


Seamless System Integration: Integrating mechanical, electronic, and control systems, you create fully functional prototypes and production-ready systems. Collaborating with other engineering disciplines, you ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of mechatronic systems, enhancing the overall functionality and reliability of our products. Your knowledge of engineering science and technology, along with mechanical and production processes, is vital in maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Leveraging strong communication and interpersonal skills, you effectively coordinate efforts across various teams.


Rigorous Testing and Validation: Executing comprehensive testing protocols, you validate system performance and reliability. Analyzing test data and making necessary adjustments to improve system functionality, you ensure that our products are of the highest quality and meet all performance standards. Applying mathematics, including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics, you optimize system functionality. Your ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment is crucial for successfully implementing testing and validation processes.


Documentation and Compliance: You maintain accurate records of tests and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. This includes creating and managing technical documentation, user manuals, and safety guidelines. Your attention to detail and thoroughness in documentation help maintain high standards of safety and compliance.


Efficient Project Management: Managing multiple projects simultaneously, you ensure timely delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets. Coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturing teams, you ensure the availability of necessary components and materials, optimizing project execution and maintaining project efficiency. By practically applying engineering principles, techniques, and procedures, you achieve successful project management and execution. Demonstrating problem-solving skills and attention to detail, you ensure projects are completed efficiently and to high standards.


Continuous Technological Advancement: Staying updated with the latest advancements in mechatronics technology and industry trends, you propose and implement improvements to existing systems and processes to enhance efficiency and performance. Driving continuous technological advancement, you help maintain our competitive edge. Your broad knowledge of raw materials, quality control, and production processes supports ongoing improvements and innovations. Utilizing strong communication skills, you facilitate the adoption of new technologies and practices across the organization.


Requirements:

You hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in mechatronics engineering, or a degree in mechanical, electrical, or computer science engineering with a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on mechatronics engineering experience. You have a demonstrated ability in hands-on technical work, including troubleshooting and diagnosing complex technical issues. You are proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools, and possess a strong knowledge of microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, and embedded systems. Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB, and familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming and control systems are essential. You work with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, organization, and time management. You are also proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.



The Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel

Your work is conducted primarily in a dynamic manufacturing setting, requiring flexibility to work in both office and production floor environments, where exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures is common, necessitating the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols. This job requires remaining in a stationary position 30% of the time, whether standing or sitting, and moving about inside the facility. This job requires manual dexterity, as it involves operating machinery, tools, or controls, and handling or manipulating objects. The job involves both close-up work and monitoring processes from a distance, as well as identifying and distinguishing colors. The ability to discern various sounds and alarms is crucial for maintaining safety and operational efficiency. This job requires operating a computer 30% of the time. This job requires the ability to be able to lift to 50 lbs.
