RN Circulator Surgery

Wood County Hospital is accepting applications for an RN to work in our Surgery department. The Surgery RN provides personal care and professional excellence with the systematic use of the nursing process in providing/directing the care of patients.

*This position is eligible for a $12,500 sign on bonus paid upon hire*

Job Duties:

• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize care of patient according to presenting conditions.
• Maintains aseptic technique and sterile field to assure compliance with infection control (checks sterile packs for integrity and correctly opens; observes for breaks in aseptic technique; maintains safe distance from sterile field; helps arrange sterile field; initiates action when break in aseptic occurs; preps surgical site correctly.)
• Plans care with other members of the health care team.  Checks schedule for room assignment and cases.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform procedures and use equipment for epidurals and pain management.
• Demonstrates competencies to perform procedures and use equipment competently in the care of patients undergoing surgery.  Connects equipment in appropriate sequence.  Initiates appropriate counts. Anticipates needs of scrub nurse/surgeon/anesthesia.
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize care of patient according to presenting conditions.

Shift Details:

Hours: Full time, 36 hours per week
Shift: Day Shift 
Rotation: On-Call required

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education:            

• Graduate from an accredited school or otherwise recognized nursing program

Minimum Certification:        

• Licensed RN in the state of Ohio
• BLS certified through the American Heart Association

Preferred Certification:

• ACLS certified through the American Heart Association preferred; or gained within 90 days of hire.

Minimum Experience:          

• 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
• experience in surgery or procedural setting preferred.
