Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial records and transactions of our agency, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using the accounting functions of our agency management system.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage petty cash disbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve financial discrepancies and address accounting-related inquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and adhere to data protection policies.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience (3+ years) working in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as Microsoft Excel with experience with our agency Management System, AMS360, or a similar system, being preferred.
  • A North Carolina insurance license and insurance industry service experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry-specific accounting processes and regulations is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, Certified Public Accountant) are desirable but not required.
