POSITION SUMMARY

Located at our Byron Center location, the person in this position would install glass and door bottoms, package doors and complete other value-add processess to doors being cut by the CNC. These associates are responsible for the timeliness, accuracy and completion of these daily operations. Day-to-day responsibilites include:

  • Living Out Lumbermen’s Culture – Leading in and modeling Lumbermen’s core values while creating an atmosphere where Lumbermen’s is ‘first choice’ of our customers.
  • Detail Oriented - Unloading incoming freight, verifying product against enclosed packing lists, sorting material by end destination and putting away excess stock.
  • Equipment Usage - Using fork trucks and order picking equipment.
  • Loading Products - Loading outbound transfer trucks.
  • Preparing Orders - Accurately pulling customer orders and preparing material for shipment
  • Safety - Securing and labeling products for delivery
  • Process - Transferring picked orders to staging area for delivery per the delivery schedule.
  • Open Communication - Assisting in cleaning and maintenance of warehouse.
  • Teamwork - Performing other tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor

This position offers a $250 annual clothing allowance to offset costs for work apparel, protective footwear, and PPE.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Prior woodworking would be considered a plus; router,mitersaws and table saws.
  • Prior cabinet manufacturing or trim carpentry work would be considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of exterior doors would be considered a plus, but not required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong communication skills
  • Safe working practices
  • Natural detail-orientation
  • Ability to accurately read orders and stage material to internal customer needs
  • Desrie to "do things right the first time"

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to do physical labor including lifting of up to 75lbs.
  • Ability to stand for 8 - 10 hours/day
