Company Overview:

As one of the largest producers of semolina and durum in North America, this company has recently made significant investments to expand the capacity and capabilities of their milling complex. Leveraging their expertise from grain origination through to blending and milling, they offer a diverse array of products, granulations, packaging options, and customized blends.

Position Summary:

The Shift Miller oversees the entire operations of the mill and its personnel. This role involves working rotating shifts every 4 weeks with at least every other weekend off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute wheat and product changes according to schedule
  • Maintain purifiers in optimal condition
  • Perform downtime maintenance on air filters, sifters, and clean spouts
  • Ensure roll stands are clean and monitor feed rates
  • Monitor and adjust water levels for finished products as needed
  • Conduct minor repairs to ensure continuous plant operation, promptly reporting any issues to maintenance
  • Supervise all aspects of mill and wheat cleaning operations
  • Manage shift employees, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards
  • Facilitate clear communication with other supervisors in mill operations and loadout, offering assistance when required

Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Milling Science and Management OR completion of IAOM Correspondence Course OR equivalent experience as a Miller in a Flour Mill
  • Previous experience in Flour Mill operations
  • Preferably possess leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts
