We are looking for a Driver of a 12-passenger van/mini-bus, driving students to and from the Before & After School program and engaging students in learning for the remainder of the shift.


A typical day for a Van Driver/Teacher's Assistant will include:

  • Driving company vehicle to and from schools and/or field trips.
  • Monitoring the behavior of all children in the vehicle.
  • Operating vehicle safely at all times in accordance with all traffic and driving laws.
  • Checking the condition of vehicle to ensure that everything is in working order
  • Working as a team with the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, healthy, structured, and welcoming space to grow and learn.

Our learning centers are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We have locations across Rhode Island.

Requirements:

We are willing to train the right person Our ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience working with School Age children.

We are looking for someone who has the following skills:

  • A personal demeanor that is warm and friendly.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and reading skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Team-oriented and willing to work with others.

A Chauffeur License is needed for this position. If you are interested - we will pay for the right candidate to get it


Education Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
  • Visual and hearing acuity.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.


Other Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a valid chauffeur license and meet insurance required parameter for safe driving or obtain a chauffeur license prior to working.
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English, bilingual encouraged to apply.
  • Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check.
  • Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).
