Your Title: Backend Software Engineer

Your Location: Remote/preferably the Greater Boston Area

You Report To: Engineering Manager

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am - 5:30pm EST

Compensation: $120K + benefits

About the Opportunity:

What you will do:

    • Design, develop, and implement backend services using strong programming fundamentals.
    • Be a self-starter with strong work ethic.
    • Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration between the client-side and server-side applications.
    • Participate in the design and implementation of robust and scalable system architectures.
    • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
    • Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and functionality.
    • Troubleshoot and debug complex backend issues.
    • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • 2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on backend technologies.
    • 2+ years of experience in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).
    • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or Oracle.
    • Experience with API design and development principles.
    • Ability to think about systems; their edge cases, failure modes, and lifecycles.
    • Experience with building and deploying applications in cloud environments (e.g., AWS) (a plus).
    • Strong understanding of design patterns and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile).
    • Excellent communication skills. You must be able to collaborate effectively with teams in a fully remote environment and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
    • You are customer-focused, react well to changes, and able to multi-task on multiple products and projects.
    • A passion for building high-quality software.
