ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of the Irrigation Technician


  • Monitor and test new installations, troubleshoot and repair problems, observe pipe and valve placements, and evaluate start-ups, winterization and overall operation of the irrigation system.

  • Conduct and record detailed inspections and plan/execute upgrades of client systems.

  • Program and maintain controllers.

  • Manage both public water and well-driven systems.

  • Train new crew to use equipment and apply best practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS of the Irrigation Technician


  • Must have a valid Massachusetts driver's License.

  • Ability to create and read site map colored charts/legends.

  • Snow season is a requirement for this position.

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

  • Job description subject to change based upon the company needs and demands.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS of the Irrigation Technician


  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials

  • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift.

  • Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise and cold

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

WORKING ENVIRONMENT of the Irrigation Technician


  • The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.

  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
