What you will do in this exciting role

  • Take ownership of developing both innovative designs and novel concepts, consistently seeking groundbreaking solutions to design challenges.
  • Demonstrate expertise in designing and integrating mechanical and electrical systems to create cohesive, efficient solutions.
  • Take ownership of the entire design process, including drawings and technical input, ensuring precision and functionality.
  • Thoroughly verify and validate new designs through feasibility studies, prototype testing, and related activities.
  • Efficiently manage multiple project timelines, allocate resources, and fulfill responsibilities to achieve project goals.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including sales, operations, procurement, and external suppliers, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Generate detailed bills of materials and manufacturing methods to support the production process. Document the decision-making process behind design choices to provide transparency and insights into design rationale.
  • Support and promote safety initiatives throughout the company and within manufacturing processes to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of OEM design experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Required).
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (used internally), SolidWorks, or similar CAD software packages.
  • Expertise in incorporating various fluid seal types (e.g., piston seals, rod seals, rotating seals, O-rings) into new designs.
  • Ability to accurately size power transmission components, such as motors, gears, chain, belt, and pulleys.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and professionalism, fostering collaborative work environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and an aptitude for quickly learning new software applications.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Other physical activity includes standing, sitting for long periods of time, reaching, grasping, stooping, pushing, kneeling, and pulling.
  • Ability to use PPE in a manufacturing environment where safety is priority.
  • Travel – up to 20%.

Bonus Experience:

  • Experience in developing and interfacing with a variety of electronic control systems.
  • Experience in designing to certifications and standards (CE, ATEX, ICEX, ISO, UL).
  • Experience with and understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and systems.
  • Proficiency in Mechanics and Materials.
  • Background in fabrication and machining.
