Job Description:

Systems Technology & Research, Inc. (STaR) is seeking an Army Systems Coordinator in the Huntsville, AL area to support Army Aviation Project Management Offices. Candidates should be a highly motivated and responsive self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Candidate responsibilities will include but are not limited to; providing advice to higher-level management on all matters relating to the Project Management Office's (PMO) position regarding Army aviation initiatives and work all related aspects of cost, schedule and performance between the PMO and Army staff offices that support plans, programs and resources at the Army headquarters level; support the continuous management and review of cost, schedule, performance and life cycle management of projects/programs/products as they transition through the acquisition life cycle from research, development, production, fielding and sustainment; and preparing key military briefings and engagements.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination between Product Managers and ASA(ALT) representing the intentions of the PMO.
  • Support the PMO Product Offices and help resolve complex problems with their programs by navigating assistance from Army senior leaders and staff functional offices.
  • Support the preparation of key briefings and engagements such as Army program budget briefs to outline the PMO's position regarding the upcoming fiscal year requirements.
  • Develop and provide justification regarding what the PMO can and cannot do with the funding originally planned for in the program objective memorandum, based on potential increases or decreases to the overall defense budget.
  • Play an integral part in PMO milestone decision reviews, by assisting the program office with coordinating meetings with key players and decision-makers.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in the specialized field with 10 years' experience or a master's degree in the specialized field with 8-years' experience in DoD systems acquisition, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Highly experienced maintaining all related aspects of cost, schedule and performance between program and Military/ Government staff offices that support plans, programs, and resources at the headquarters level or similar.
  • Experienced preparing key military briefings and engagements.
  • Experienced defending and justifying what military/ government programs can and cannot do with the funding planned for in the program objectives.
  • Program Management experience preferred.
  • Must work well within a team environment dealing with high volume work with speed and accuracy.
  • Active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain.
