As a Cloud FinOps Financial Specialist, You Will:

Guide and implement the core competencies of an effective FinOps framework for xScion’s Regulatory Technology customers. This role will involve working closely with customer FinOps (Cloud Finance) teams to structure and implement the FinOps methodology for new Cloud Programs. In an environment focused on cost consciousness, effective FinOps implementation can lead to operational improvements, cost optimization, cost avoidance, and enhanced data efficiencies. FinOps is both a culture and a mindset, emphasizing a coordinated and integrated approach across the cloud.

Work closely with xScion’s customers to understand and address cloud cost spend and environment stability through data analysis, consulting, accurate documentation, and creative problem-solving.


  • Develop and Implement FinOps Strategies:
    • Design and execute strategies to optimize cloud spending, including budgeting, forecasting, trending, and cost allocation methodologies.
    • Continuously analyze the cloud estate to control spending, map actual to forecast, and optimize budgets.
  • Cost Optimization Models:
    • Conduct continuous analysis across the cloud estate to control spending, map actual to forecast, and optimize budgets.
  • Finance Policies:
    • Evolve finance, budgeting, and accounting policies to support dynamic cloud environments without compromising the ability to control costs.
  • FinOps Governance:
    • Establish and maintain thorough and continuous governance across finance, operations, delivery, and procurement to enforce strong controls and enable visibility.
  • Deep Reporting, Trending, and Analysis:
    • Analyze billing data and usage metrics to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for optimization.
    • Provide actionable insights into monitoring and managing accounts, unused cloud resources, misallocated expenses, service tagging mistakes, and savings plan discounts and fees.
    • Monitor cloud consumption at the account level to detect, investigate, and manage anomalies, alerts, and unplanned spikes.
  • Comprehensive Assessments:
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ cloud spending patterns and cost structures.
  • Collaboration and Documentation:
    • Collaborate with the Cloud Program team to implement the above points effectively.
    • Document processes to ensure repeatability and adherence to best practices.


To Be Successful, You need:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst with proven experience in FinOps or Cloud Finance role
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex billing data and usage metrics
  • Experience with cloud financial management tools and platforms (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing)
  • Excellent understanding of cloud cost optimization, budgeting, and forecasting methodologies
  • Strong governance and policy development experience in a cloud environments
  • Ability to provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to document processes clearly and concisely
  • Permanent Residency required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications in cloud computing or financial management (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner).
  • Experience working in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Experience with automation tools for cost management and optimization
