Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring for a qualified Senior Ultrasonographer-OB/Gynto work for a hospital in Austin, TX.Minimum of six years Radiology experience (any/all modalities), minimum of 2 years of experience in OB/gyn setting and ARDMS certification required.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Routine and Specialized examinations, assigns tasks, and inspects completed work to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, institutional and departmental standards, rules, and laws.
  • Monitors supply inventory and ensures that established stock levels are appropriate.Shortages and/or overages of supplies are to be managed with Supply Chain, and par levels to be adjusted accordingly.
  • Actively manages workflow in communication with nursing, anesthesia and other impacted parties.
  • Accurately documents equipment malfunction and ensures timely notification of appropriate parties including Biomed, the vendor, faculty and staff.
  • Reports all equipment issues to Bio-Med as issues are observed and follows up with manager or designee within one hour.
  • Schedules and documents preventative maintenance for equipment.Ensures impact to patients and operations are minimized by thorough communication of event with staff, physicians and other critical customers.
  • Depending on location, performs daily documented team huddles.
  • Depending on location, works with team to ensure 5S principles are embedded into operations and that gains are sustained. Works with manager, IT and others to update IMG codes to reflect current billing standards reflective of CPT and ICD-10 codes.
  • Accurately and independently performs procedures, identifies and resolves issues. Seeks experiences and knowledge in the technical area to gain experience. Shares knowledge with others.
  • Recognizes signs and symptoms of an emergency and initiates emergency procedures.
  • Responsible for quality control activities on the equipment and collaborates with appropriate parties to resolve image quality issues.
  • Assists other employees in troubleshooting exam problems, errors and performance of work load in order to meet established turnaround times.
  • Partners with Ambulatory leader to increase volume at all locations.
  • Serves as supply coordinator to ensure fiscal responsibility in purchasing supplies


Job Requirements:

  • The Ultrasonographer OB, Sr is a critical thinker who uses technical, leadership, educational, quality and regulatory knowledge to organize the activities for timely and high quality delivery of patient care during routine and complex exam completion.
  • Performance of exceptional quality routine and specialized Ultrasound procedures at the request of licensed, independent practitioner for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Integrates scientific knowledge; technical skills, patient interaction and compassionate care resulting in diagnostic information, and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
  • Prepares, administers and document activities related to mediations in accordance with state regulations and institution policy.
  • Must demonstrate a highly detailed understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
  • Must think critically, use independent, professional and ethical judgment in all aspects of their work, and they must engage in continuing education to include their area of practice to enhance patient care, public education, knowledge and technical competence.
  • Responsibility for patient care, appropriate documentation, quality control, and quality improvement, and they provide training, education and mentoring to students, technologists, nursing, residents, fellows, staff and others.
  • Remain sensitive to the needs of the patient through good communication, and exceptional patient care skills.
  • As members of the health care team, must participate in quality improvement processes and continually assess their professional performance.
  • Maintains a safe and hazard free environment


Education/Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required- Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program
  • Required- BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support via American Heart Association
  • Required- 6 years Radiology experience (any/all modalities)
  • Required to have one of the below certifications:
  • RDMS-AB - RDMS in Abdomen
  • RDMS-BR - RDMS in Breast Specialty
  • RDMS-FE - RDMS in Fetal Echocardiography
  • RDMS-OB - Reg Diag Med Sonographer OBGYN
  • RDMS-PS - RDMS in Pedi Sonography
  • Bachelor’s degree in any radiology or healthcare field of study may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
  • Master’s degree in any radiology or healthcare field of study may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in OBGYN setting
  • Ability to work in fast-paced clinic setting

  • Schedule-Full time-40 hours/week
