Essential Functions:
- Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
- Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
- Assists the shop foreman for resolution of problems with service work or scheduling issues.
- Works with Office Manager to schedule workload, procurement of materials and/or required subcontractor services.
- Tasking includes laboratory electrical configuration of providing utilities which meets or exceeds requirements set forth involving new or existing laboratory test equipment.
- Contractor shall respond, appraise, and repair electrical problems within the infrastructure of this directorate.
- A working knowledge of single and three -phase electric up to 600V.
- Will work with high current DC volts; some requirements will be for special lighting controllers (LED).
- Work involves zoned lighting, Control Access Card (CAC) troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
- Support all deactivation of power in areas that are to undergo demolition and additionally shall support power installation upgrades involving Back Shop renovation projects.
Other Requirements:
- Requires 3 – 20 years expertise/experience of performing electrical work at a Master level; plans, organizes, and executes projects and oversees subcontracts
