Hooks Meng & Clement are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our growing Las Vegas office crew. HMC specializes in Workers’ Compensation Insurance Defense, OSHA Employer Representation, Subrogation, Subsequent Injury, and Industrial Insurance Litigation by defending employers, insurers, third-party administrators, and others. No other industrial relations law firm in Nevada can rival our qualifications in those specialized areas. Our practice thrives on being the best at what we do.

We protect and empower clients by successfully navigating the constant challenges on a sea of complex, arcane statutes and regulations, we call Industrial Relations Law. Beyond representation, we strive to develop relationships with clients and become their trusted counsellor.

Our partners have a tremendous amount of legal experience to mentor and share with new associates who are willing to join this fast-paced and challenging practice.

Compensation:

$100,000+ annually

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to represent clients in court or before government agencies either in person or remotely.
  • Experience in drafting legal documents and correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Must meet or exceed monthly required billable hours.
  • Be careful and deliberate in planning and strategizing for clients by reviewing case files.
  • Maintain organized client files in our electronic case management system to ensure all files have the most up-to-date and accurate information.
  • Understanding of the Nevada statutes and regulations pertaining to their assigned cases and have the ability to perform legal research.
  • Compliance with all legal standards, ethics, Nevada Statutes, and Regulations.
  • Must be organized, a multi-tasker, deadline-oriented, a team player, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:

  • Currently a State Bar of Nevada member in good standing.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and cross-functional problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in this fast-paced environment are a must as well as impeccable attention to detail in your work.
  • Ability to work under strict court deadlines.
  • Be able to collaborate as part of a team, as well as have the drive to also work independently.
  • Willingness to cultivate and develop strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, not just being their representation.
  • Impeccable time management skills with the ability to manage multiple, competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are critical as well as exceptional and persuasive writing skills.
  • Strive to exemplify the highest levels of respect and performance for each client on a daily basis.
  • Ability to use an electronic case management system to organize and work cases efficiently.
  • Highly motivated and interested in Administrative Law or Employment-related law.
  • Litigation experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Drive to bring A-game daily
