The Midwest Petroleum Equipment team is rapidly expanding and is seeking a professional and reliable person to serve as an Apprentice Electrician. This position is responsible for assisting the Master Electricians in the service and repair of components of fuel dispensing systems, commercial electric installations, and other related systems as directed. This position will require occasional travel during the work week.

Responsibilities:

  • Reads and interprets schematic diagrams, product specifications, and installation and start-up procedures.
  • Selects materials and parts required to complete assigned repairs.
  • Operates tools and equipment safely to accomplish the assigned task.
  • Completes assigned tasks quickly, completely, and consistent with guidelines.
  • Maintains a clean work area. Organizes/ stores tools and material to minimize damage to materials and risk of injury.
  • Protects the property of the company and customer by all reasonable means.
  • Monitor and is accountable for accuracy of parts inventory.
  • Analyze electronic and mechanical problems and provide repairs as required.
  • Install, program, and test new equipment.
  • Communicate with customers and explain technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Present yourself professionally and be prompt when making service calls.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED. Additional training and certification provided.
  • Apprentice Electrician License: 1 year (preferred but not required)
  • Valid and clean driver’s license
  • Able to pass background check and drug screening

Requirements:

  • Basic electrical knowledge and electronic/mechanical abilities preferred
  • Experience with petroleum equipment preferred
  • Sound integrity and professional ethics
  • Ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and employees
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and complete projects on time

Hours:

  • This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday with occasional overnight travel required.
