NextGen designed and developed survivability solutions for commercial vehicles based on customer requirements for 15+ years. While the company was recently organized as NextGen Armor the engineering and manufacturing talent has been working with these customers and created 10 different platforms. Today, NextGen Armor employs over 30 personnel and operates in facilities encompassing ~53,000 ft.


JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for light fabrication, assembly and installation of various mechanical items. Coordinates with other technicians to assure the completed vehicle meet requirements and is finished according to the build schedule. Assists in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.

· Responsible for the light fabrication (cut, drill, grind, etc.), assembly and installation of assigned parts, pieces, subassemblies and assemblies on both the interior and the exterior of the vehicle

· Supports and participates in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues within assigned areas of the build and engaging other assistance as required to maintain quality and schedule

· Beneficial items would include:

· Aluminum sheet/panel or body work

· Lighting/Electrical

· AC toubleshooting

· Welding & Fabrication

· DOT/PA state inspection license

· Overall diagnosis capabilities

JOB SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

· Formal training or 1-2 years of experience in mechanical systems installation preferably automotive related

· Can read, understand and follow written instructions and engineering drawings for mechanical designs

· Experienced in operating hand tools and power tools

· Demonstrated ability to participate in a team recognize and execute to priorities, solve complex problems, create simple plans, perform to schedules and communicate effectively

· Must be "hands-on", a team player and able to perform efficiently under tight time constraints

· Must be comfortable working in confined spaces in/around vehicles

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs
