Position Summary: The Plant Health Care Manager will be responsible for the operational management and execution of the company's plant healthcare services. This role will work directly with the Sales Arborist and Plant Health Care Technicians to develop agronomic programs and treatment protocols. The manager will order materials, coordinate equipment and manpower, and establish the schedules required to implement programs and protocols.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Consult with clients to perform evaluations and create either one-time or recurring plans for treating and maintaining their trees and shrubs.
  • Manage proposals and scheduling of services through Arborgold software
  • Communicate with clients to follow up on proposals, answer questions, and generate and maintain recurring services
  • Manage PHC technicians through hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions
  • Train and supervise PHC technicians in the safe and proper handling, mixing, and application of products as well as proper equipment use and maintenance
  • Performing/overseeing plant health care treatments including spray applications, deep root injections, trunk injections, etc.
  • Ensure proper storage and maintenance of PHC equipment
  • Maintain proper records and ensure compliance with current pesticide regulations
  • Regularly meet with the leadership team to strategize for the growth of the PHC program and the company as a whole.
  • Track performance and progress toward goals and help analyze potential areas of improvement and growth
  • Review, validate, and secure approval of time submitted by PHC Technicians

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Ability to demonstrate practical knowledge of standard industry practices & techniques
  • Arborist Certification Required
  • Pesticide Applicators License Required
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise a team
  • Self-sufficient and able to work and make decisions independently
  • Experience managing sales and estimation processes (Job costing, proposals, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum two (2) year college degree in Horticulture, Logistics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Four Plus (4+) years' relevant experience in plant health care required

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing; walking; lifting and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Requires frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching.
  • May require out-of-town travel (5-10%).
