KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enter data for all inventory functions: receiving, footage adjustments, tallies and shipping bill of ladings.
  • Communicate daily with Planning, Production, Quality, and Sales departments to ensure orders are complete and released for on time delivery of customer orders.
  • Coordinate with outside processing locations to schedule inventory for receipt and shipment.
  • Communicate and respond to customer inquiries concerning their inventories, shipments, and balances.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and update daily key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • File and scan of all shipping documents.
  • Maintain accurate records of Foreign Trade Zone activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES AS BACKUP FOR SHIPPING CLERK:

  • Coordinate shipments with customers, brokers, carriers, and receiving yards.
  • Procure trucks to ship product to outside processing locations.
  • Calculate theoretical weight of shipments to maximize truck load capacities without exceeding DOT weight limits.
  • Coordinate the daily truck loading schedule by assigning and confirming carrier load times.
  • Keep updated and accurate shipping logs for customer and Vallourec Star's shipments.
  • Create load and receiving documents for Shipping personnel.
  • Check carriers in and out making sure that each load is correct and that safety equipment requirements are followed.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:

This position is a fast-paced position where customer service skills are important. Effective communication with Customers, Sales, Production Planning, Quality and carriers through email, phone and various other methods is essential. Attention to detail is critical.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED. Excellent in math and computer skills. Minimum 7-year work experience in the specified field or offsetting educational background.
