Maintenance Electrician

Job Brief:

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the general upkeep of a site’s electrical systems. The Electrician is required to inspect the premises regularly and conduct routine maintenance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Inspects electrical systems such as wiring, fixtures, and appliances on a routine basis.
• Identifies faults or hazards.
• Troubleshoots system failures.
• Reviews blueprints to understand wiring placement.
• Tests electrical systems with oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ohmmeters.
• Conducts maintenance repairs on old or faulty fixtures.

• Performs scheduled PMs on electrical equipment (motors, VFD’s, Flir inspections, MCC buckets, fire and gas sensors and control panels) and troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces equipment as needed.
• Responds to fault requests.
  

• Provides suggestions for equipment replacement.
• Writes electrical maintenance reports.
• Installs new electrical appliances in the building.
• Participates/complies with company safety programs & company policies.
• Other duties as required.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Electrical Journeyman certification, preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience in maintenance electrical work.
• Valid Class D driver's license.
• Experience in running cable and conduit.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting heat trace.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
• Standard First Aid/CPR with AED, OSHA 30, and Safeland, with preference for OSHA500.
