The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (A Fair Opportunity Employer) seeking to hire a Field Enumerator to conduct agricultural survey data collection in Clarion, Venango, and Mercer Counties.

The job consists of collecting agricultural data by personal and telephone interviews of farmers and agri-businesses.

This is a part-time intermittent position, efficient workers can AVERAGE 25+ hours per week.

Retirees and/or those seeking permanent part-time work are welcome to apply.

Applicants should have daytime and some evening availability - some weekends as well.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred candidate will have basic knowledge of agriculture. Farm background not necessary, but ideal.

Position requires ability to understand complex instructions in written and oral form and apply these instructions while working independently from your home; enlist the cooperation of farmers and other respondents; communicate clearly and effectively in writing and orally; meet deadlines; positively promote National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) and the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA).

Applicants must be able to operate a computer/iPad, have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, proof of auto insurance, provide own transportation and good communication skills.

Travel for training, requiring overnight stay once to twice a year is possible - time, mileage and per diem to cover costs is offered.

Starting salary is $17.20per hour plus a per mile for travel.

Applicants must be able to do the following:

Excellent organizational skills and communication skills is highly recommended.

Job requires use of an iPad; basic computer and internet skills are beneficial. Must have basic computer skills, be able to send and receive email, text messages and check voicemail.

Open to learning new technologies, training and work submission is computer based.

Work with your supervisor communicating about your field and phone work, and also smaller trainings based on work assigned is highly recommended for position.

Communication via-phone with others and collecting the data is highly recommended.

Following deadlines and communicating with supervisor in a timely manner.
