Residential Clinical Supervisor

A sign-on bonus of $3,000 will be available to the successful new hire external candidate


Bridgeway is a new kind of healthcare organization providing holistic treatment through addiction recovery, problem gambling treatment, mental health therapy, and primary medical care.


Primary Purpose

Under the supervision of the program director, the clinical supervisor serves as the supervisor for all aspects of the residential treatment programs by directing, supervising, and monitoring the work of clinical and support staff in the provision of treatment services and aftercare planning for assigned clients.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the program director and counselor(s) to determine the continuum of care for program participants.
  • Directs program counseling and support staff in the day-to-day provision of client-centered, family-focused, trauma-informed services.
  • Reviews curricula and other program materials for clinical appropriateness and approves the acquisition of all new curricula and other programming materials.
  • Ensures that the counseling staff has been adequately trained to use any curriculum delivered to clients.
  • Supervises clinical staff in developing individualized and clinically appropriate treatment plans.
  • Reviews and approves all clinical documentation (assessments, treatment plans, service notes, per agency policy or protocol) and conducts regular quality assurance and quality improvement reviews to ensure that all proper record-keeping is performed on a timely basis.
  • Assesses and evaluates staff; develops methods to use and enhance strengths and address any needed staff improvement.
  • Address any client complaints or special needs of the client or family as indicated.
  • Provides ongoing client surveys to identify changing needs and service effectiveness.
  • Conducts regular chart reviews, ensuring that all proper record-keeping is performed on time and that all governing agency regulations are met.
  • Attends meetings and participates in discussions concerning the revision, improvement and expansion of existing programs, and offers recommendations.
  • Participates in quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization review activities and makes recommendations to the program director for plans of correction.
  • Maintains program compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules.
  • Initiates requisitions for hiring, take part in the interview process, makes recommendations for hiring and develop an onboarding training plan for new clinical and support staff.
  • Coordinates and assigns staff training within Relias Learning Management System or to internal or external training events.
  • Assures coverage of all scheduled shifts and activities (can include the provision of group facilitation and other clinical work as needed).
  • Attends staff meetings and works as a member of the leadership team.
  • Manages staff timecards, including time off requests.

Experience, Education and Credentials

  • Master's Degree in Behavioral Health, if supervising mental health services.
  • Relevant experience supervising staff and managing treatment programs.
  • Typically requires an Associate Degree or higher in Human Services or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • In addition to formal education, the qualified candidate generally has at least three years of counseling experience and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor II (CADC II) or higher.
  • Certified Gambling Addiction Counselor (CGAC I or higher) is preferred.
  • Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated before the employment start date.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong computer and time management skills are required to work effectively.
  • An advanced understanding of ASAM PPC-2R and DSM-5 is required.
  • An intermediate understanding of Oregon Administrative Rules is preferred.
  • A qualified candidate must be able to pass a criminal background check.
