About the Role: The Regional Controller will be a critical team member who will lead and support multiple workstreams to advance key accounting and operational objectives. The Regional Controller is the key finance contact for our partner companies, in effect they are the regional CFO. This person will interface heavily with assigned local partners, the associated Regional Vice President of Operations and other internal teams to promote and implement best practices across the platform to ensure integrity within the financial statements and critical business processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee, drive, and support the monthly close process for the region ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the accounting records. The level of involvement depends on the local partner’s needs and accounting capabilities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with assigned partner owner-operators/GMs and become a trusted business partner; make sure your owner-operators are comfortable with and understand their financials. Visit partners at least once per quarter.
- Review financial statements and provide robust variance analytics each month.
- Actively participate in monthly financial review calls and the budgeting process for assigned partners, providing supporting data as well as key financial and operational insights.
- Implement robust month end and year end close processes.
- Develop accounting processes/best practices for assigned partners while identifying opportunities to further utilize technology and streamline, where applicable.
- Identify GAAP gaps, address issues and ensure continued compliance with GAAP and LSP’s accounting guidelines.
- Solve ad hoc problems, bringing in other SMEs when needed.
- Monitor and manage regional partners’ cash flows.
- Approve and initiate payment of bills in the centralized A/P system for assigned partners.
- Elevate potential issues to finance and operational leadership teams.
- Support the annual audit for assigned partners.
- Onboard, train, manage and mentor assigned regional staff.
- Recruit and interview direct/indirect reports supporting the assigned region.
- Assist with implementations for regional partner companies, as needed.
- Provide system training and support to regional partner companies, as needed.
- Provide budget and prior year variances; work with the FP&A to provide visibility and to understand fluctuations in revenues, expenses, and other key metrics.
- Prepare/Provide support for financial annual operating plans prepared by partners.
- Enhance and streamline monthly and annual close process for local partner companies in the assigned region; ensure “audit ready” status.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance focused role supporting middle market businesses
- Full cycle accounting and strong knowledge of GAAP
- Strong systems knowledge spanning accounting, payroll, and reporting
- Proven track record of being a trusted business partner to operations and executives
- Ability to thrive in fast paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong ability to communicate accounting and financial information using common language
- Experience preparing financial statements
- Highly motivated, able to take initiative and is a proactive problem solver
- Analytical – finds meaning and action in numbers, and is data-driven
