Location: Onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA (1332 Edgewood Rd SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404)
Job Schedule: Mon-Fri (6:00 AM-3:00 PM)
Job Summary:
The Backhaul Administrator assists the Planning department by securing freight and managing the movement of loads for company and contractor assets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with planners to reduce layovers and enhance network flow
- Basic understanding of logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting customer products.
- Maintain knowledge of HOS and DOT regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of customers, their needs and expectations.
- Make safe decisions balancing the needs of the customer, driver and business.
- Answer a high quantity of emails in a timely and professional manner throughout the day.
- Answers the phones in an amiable and professional manner. Answers any questions that are within the area of the position’s responsibility or refers the call to the appropriate person to answer questions
- Responsible for booking freight
Work locations of each position will be determined during the hiring process. Each work location will depend on business needs and the essential functions of the position.
