Senior Accountant

Carel is looking for a Full Time Senior Accountant

This position is an integral part of the finance team and reports directly to the Controller. Collaboration with all levels of associates will be necessary to gain understanding and create accurate journal entries, inventory & account reconciliations. General ledger maintenance, audit preparedness, and periodic average costing are integral parts of the Senior Accountant's role.

Candidate will be a go-getter with the ability to work independently and well with a team. The position requires excellent excel, analytical and communication skills.

Primary Accountabilities:

Prepares financial reports in accordance with IFRS.

Prepares journal entries in general ledger.

Assists with preparing and monitoring budgets.

Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and general ledger accounts.

Investigates and resolves audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.

Analyzes financial information and summarizes financial status.

Identifies errors, inconsistencies and suggests ways to improve efficiency.

Proofs accounting reports for accuracy, completeness, reasonableness.

Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.

Analyzes inventory and works with manufacturing to understand discrepancies.

Develop and analyze cost standards for materials and labor.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures. Understanding of inventory and cost accounting.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Advanced MS Excel skills.

Must by highly proficient in Excel.

Experience with Oracle is a plus.

Excellent analytical, data-manipulation, problem solving, and communication skills necessary. Standard or PAC costing experience.

Team player.

• Education: BS required (Business Administration, Accounting, Finance)
• Minimum three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in Accounting
• Experience in manufacturing preferred
• Experience with Oracle is a plus
• Excellent analytical, data-manipulation, problem solving, and communication skills necessary
• Standard or PAC costing experience
• Team player
