Teams are comprised of Administrators, certified special education teachers, licensed clinical Social Workers, Clinical Psychologist, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, pediatric school nurses, classroom support staff and more.
Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education for students aged 5 to 22 requiring intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. We believe in fostering an environment that is supportive, developmentally appropriate, and tailored to specific individual needs. Our dedication lies in the cooperative, self-motivated, adjusted, and academically accomplished development of each child.
As a Clinical Psychologist at Solterra Academy, you'll provide a wide array of clinical services to our students aged 5-22 and their families, encompassing individual therapy, family counseling, parent education and support, crisis intervention, classroom consultation, creating individualized behavior plans, case coordination, collaboration, and conducting classroom-based group therapy. Additionally, you will perform assessments for students within our therapeutic day school, which operates from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Administer, score, interpret, and write formal integrated psychological evaluations for students aged 5-22.
- Determine student eligibility or continued eligibility for special education services based on assessment results.
- Present assessment outcomes in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings to the student's treatment team, parents/guardians, and the local educational agency.
- Participate in feedback meetings with school staff, as well as meetings with parents, guardians, and PPT meetings to address questions or concerns.
- Provide a wide range of clinical services to students and their families, including individual therapy, family counseling, and parent education and support.
- Engage in crisis intervention, classroom consultation, and the creation of individualized behavior plans.
- Conduct classroom-based group therapy and participate in case coordination and collaboration.
- Perform student assessments during the therapeutic day school's operational hours.

- Post Doctoral Supervision available if needed
- Doctorate in Psychology
- Minimum of one year of supervised experience in a treatment setting for children and adolescents.
- Demonstrated proficiency in various assessment instruments, including cognitive assessments, projective measures, behavior rating scales, and adaptive rating scales.
