We are looking for a Business Development Operations (Discovery, Pre-Clinical & CMC) to support our team on the East Coast, specifically the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and additionally Pennsylvania).

The BDO will manage existing business accounts through the development and maintenance of positive client relationships. This role will be assisting the Director of Business Development with all opportunity follow-ups and organization as needed from early funnel development. As well as facilitating initial conversations to continue developing team-wide best practices.

Job Overview:
  • Provide deliverable updates to clients as agreed upon or needed. Assist with client presentations as needed/requested.
  • Directs/coordinates technical, financial, and/or operational aspects of the projects to ensure project deliverables meet stakeholder time/quality/cost expectations, and ensure successful design, implementation, tracking, and revision of project plans and management.
  • Develop and expand existing relationships to help BD in achieving sales goals.
  • Provide support when required in different studies assigned to other colleagues within the Business Development team.
  • Supporting specific day-to-day tasks to support the Business Development and line management in maintaining key Business Development tools and Pharmaron systems, including company presentations and technical flyers, etc.
  • Strategize with team members to innovate and improve the sales process.
  • Maintain SalesForce and SmartSheet databases with up-to-date information on inquiries, proposals, CDAs/MSAs, task orders etc. to facilitate accurate forecasting and reporting.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for individuals with a strong work ethic who are highly motivated to succeed both individually and with a fast-growing company.

  • B.S, Msc or PhD in related field with experience in synthetic, medicinal or processed chemistry is preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years experience working in a laboratory within drug discovery, pre clinical or clinical development.
  • CRO experience is desired.
  • Account Management experience is desired but not essential.
  • Flexibility to travel around the tri-state area on occasion and flexible with the time zone differences; meetings and calls may be scheduled during non-standard hours.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain rapport with any clients.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and able to adapt to the fast-paced nature of the business development work.
