Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionAs an experienced CAD Technician, you will assist our PSMs in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of Surveying. 
Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  • Basic calculations for field crews.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of bench runs.
  • Review and compare crew field book information to final maps.
  • Prepare sketches and descriptions from field-collected data.
  • Perform processing by utilizing GPS processing software.
  • Prepare Right-of-way Control Maps.
  • Prepare Right-of-way Maps.
  • Extract topographic features from LiDAR point clouds.
  • Complete project logs and time sheets daily.
  • Research for projects online or at local and or state agencies.
  • Utilize Standards of Practice and/or NCDOT checklist for product preparation.
  • Analyze deeds and research materials for the production of survey and mapping products.
  • Assist in Quality Control of field-collected data for submittals. 
  • Assist with survey estimates, surveyor’s reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Produce survey exhibits to support man-hour estimates. 


What you'll need
  • Proficient in OpenRoads Designer, Geopak, MicroStation SS10, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Current knowledge of the latest technology related to UAVs, Mobile, and Terrestrial LiDAR is a plus.  
  • Experience with LiDAR processing and/or extraction with TopoDOT software preferred. 
  • General knowledge of NCDOT surveying/mapping procedures is a plus. 
  • Ability to work independently.
  • High school diploma or field-related work experience and/or a Certification in a related field is acceptable.
