Position Title: Facilities Operator

Department: Facilities

Reporting to: Facilities Manager

Pay Range: $14-$16

Position Mission:

  • As a Facilities Operator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of our facilities. Your attention to detail and commitment to providing a safe and pleasant environment for employees and visitors is essential to our success.

Position Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting, to maintain the cleanliness of all assigned areas.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure they are well-maintained throughout the day.
  • Empty and dispose of trash receptacles, recycling bins, and other waste materials.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment when necessary.
  • Operate and maintain janitorial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and pressure washers.
  • Notify the supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs, safety hazards, or security concerns.
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning up after events, meetings, or gatherings as needed.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure consistent results.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with coworkers and building occupants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Education required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experiences required:

  • Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus.


Technical Skills Required:

  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and their safe usage.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet cleaning deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
