Job Summary

Apex Recovery is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive mental health care to our clients, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. The Psychiatrist will play a crucial role in the development of individualized treatment plans, medication management, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care for our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Psychiatric Evaluations: Perform thorough assessments of clients' mental health, including the diagnosis of psychiatric and substance use disorders.
  • Develop Treatment Plans: Create and implement individualized treatment plans that address clients' unique needs, incorporating medication management, therapy, and other appropriate interventions.
  • Medication Management: Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications as needed, ensuring clients receive safe and effective treatment for their mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team: Work closely with therapists, counselors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care and coordinate treatment plans.
  • Client Education and Support: Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms and improving overall well-being.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention during psychiatric emergencies, ensuring the safety and stability of clients.
  • Maintain Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Participate in Team Meetings: Engage in regular team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to collaborate on client care and stay updated on best practices in psychiatry.



Requirements:

Education and/or Work Experience Requirement:

  • Education: MD or DO degree with a specialization in Psychiatry.
  • Licensure: Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice psychiatry in the state of TN.
  • Certification: Board certification in Psychiatry is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a psychiatric setting, with experience in addiction psychiatry highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of psychiatric disorders, substance use disorders, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Attributes: Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to client-centered care.

Has the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Has the ability to write complex correspondence. Has the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, visitors, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Has the ability to solve practical complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
