Position Summary:
The Business Senior Manager will support day-to-day management and operations of the Enrollment and Accounting departments. This role will monitor financial activities of the organization and apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to account for and analyze financial information and ensure compliance with financial requirements of all applicable regulations. The Business Senior Manager will inform the Business Intelligence Director and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on financial and operational matters, oversee all claims processing activities, and has primary responsibility for maintaining all business office operations including budget management and leadership support for the business division staff.
The Business Senior Manager will directly oversee the Accounting Manager and Enrollment Manager.
Responsibilities & Competencies:
- Assist directors in planning for Lakeland Care's (LCI) long-term success. Focus on the team’s annual goals and how to continuously improve daily operations.
- Identify obstacles and address problems proactively as they occur. Collaboration and teamwork is always essential.
- Research new strategies, brainstorm practical solutions, communicate policy changes, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Monitor industry trends to understand the potential impact to LCI. Utilize key metrics to establish baseline and monitor LCI's organizational health.
- Recognize the impact individual contributions have to the overall success of the organization and make decisions that are fiscally sound and responsible.
- Maintain an understanding of all areas of LCI's business operations, how they are interconnected and how accounting practices contribute to core business functions.
- Support change initiatives while assuring positive employee relationships.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, provide mentoring to managers and supervisors through leadership resources.
- Motivate and lead a high-performance team; attract, recruit, and retain employees while providing mentoring and professional development.

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (includes knowledge, skills, and abilities).
- Minimum of five (5) years of accounting and financial management experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years managerial experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and GAAS.
- Knowledge of Medicaid programs, the Family Care program and long-term managed care principles a plus.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload to aggressive deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and situations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely with diverse sections of the general population and professional community.
- Ability to identify and define issues and opportunities, analyze, and interpret various sources of complex data, and draw valid conclusions to take appropriate action.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to build positive, collaborative working relationships with leaders and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to present self with a professional, polished appearance and a friendly, welcoming demeanor.
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of adequate insurance.
