Quality Specialist

Location: Houma, LA

Position Overview: The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring quality assurance and control functions within a heavy manufacturing or shipyard environment. The ideal candidate must have work experience in QA/QC functions and be capable of reading and interpreting codes, specifications, advanced blueprints, and inspection and test procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform QA/QC functions to ensure compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
  • Read and interpret codes, specifications, and advanced blueprints.
  • Conduct inspections and tests according to established procedures.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Communicate procedures and processes effectively to team members.
  • Utilize standard software (MS Outlook, Word, and Excel) for documentation and reporting.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Must have working experience performing QA/QC functions in addition to seven (7) years of heavy manufacturing, shipyard, or quality (testing/inspecting) experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret codes, specifications, and advanced blueprints in addition to inspection and test procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions in addition to communicating procedures and processes in an effective manner.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and control principles.
  • Attention to detail and precision in inspection and testing tasks.
  • Proficiency in using standard software for documentation and reporting.
