Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants and Certified Patient Care Techs. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT/A). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants/Certified Patient Care Techs will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.


General Summary:

This is a part-time surgical nursing/MA position in our Adrian, Michigan office. The nurse will primarily assist the physician with Mohs surgery. The nurse must be available to work 2 Fridays per month. In addition to her clinical duties, the nurse will be responsible for charting physician findings/procedures in dermatology- specific EMR software. The nurse will be responsible for returning patient calls, answering patient questions and providing patient education.

Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), and performs post-operative top stitching (LPN).

Works directly under the supervision of the Mohs surgeon.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
  2. Escorting patients to exam room.
  3. Preparing exam rooms.
  4. Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
  5. Assist with Mohs Surgeries
  6. Perform post-operative top stitching (LPN)
  7. Chart physician findings/procedures performed
  8. Place follow up calls to patients
  9. Obtain prior authorizations and biologics paperwork
  10. Administering injections.
  11. At the request of the physician, request prescription refills.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Required:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

- High level of reliability and professionalism is expected.

- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.

- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

Previous experience preferred.

Education:

- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nursing Degree (RN) with Current State licensure. The position will require you to have both Ohio and Michigan licenses. Applicants with only one license can apply for the other after accepting the job offer. Will also consider Credentialed Medical Assistants (RMA/CMA).
