Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with assigned lead and/or supervisor and other trades to complete projects and work orders efficiently.
  • Delegates HVAC-related tasks to HVAC staff or contractors to ensure timely work order completion.
  • Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems to identify equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
  • Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders to provide information for making decisions, taking appropriate action, and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
  • Installs heating and air conditioning equipment and systems to provide enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities. -Maintains vehicle, tools, and equipment to ensure availability in safe operating conditions.
  • Monitors HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs, and recommend preventive maintenance.
  • Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned to convey and/or gather information required to perform job functions.
  • Performs maintenance on HVAC units to ensure the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems.
  • Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) to document activities and/or convey information.
  • Repairs heating and air conditioning systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) to ensure a comfortable work environment.
  • Requests equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
  • Responds to emergencies during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.
  • Supervises HVAC staff and contractors to ensure work is performed at high levels and provides expertise as needed.
  • Supervises contract work to ensure contract terms are fulfilled and work standards are met.

Job requirements

  • Must possessa valid driver's license, as the position may involve travel to various job sites or client locations
  • Must holdEPA Certification, demonstrating proficiency in handling environmental protection and regulatory compliance related to HVAC systems
  • Must be highly skilled craftsmen in their trade, with a minimum of3-5 years of practical working experiencein the residential HVAC chiller, plumbing, pipefitting, security & fire, and/or mechanical equipment service industry
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
