Position Description: The Department seeks an analytical, collaborative, highly motivated individual to join our team as a Case Manager with the Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program. DAAS supports at-risk Arizonans to meet their basic needs and to live safely, with dignity and independence. Services and programs reach a diverse population of Arizonans. DAAS RRP provides temporary assistance to Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) eligible individuals and families with social service and economic needs to assist them in reaching self-sufficiency through case management and employment services. Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for providing complex case management services such as assisting with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), temporary cash assistance, childcare, education, medical assistance, public housing, and other case management services to ORR-eligible individuals and families.

This position manages program deliverables in coordination with linguistically and culturally appropriate services to refugees. This position is responsible for providing the comprehensive case assessment, and overall evaluation of individual clients' needs; case planning/coordination, and review of case actions; case note/documentation; providing case management services to ensure meeting the agency goals; assisting the high needs' cases with planning; participate in staffing the difficult case; ensure program objectives and performance standards are met and maintained; build and maintain strong partnership/relationship with mainstream services providers, private services providers that work with vulnerable populations, and refugee resettlement networks; ability to drive families including children requires the use of a car seat in a personal and agency van; work closely with an employment specialist to obtain/retain the ORR eligible beneficiaries.

The Case Manager will also undertake a broad range of functions and responsibilities; understand, and interpret federal and state regulations governing programs related to the program area; ability to work with children; develop and facilitate workshops; provide cultural orientation, establish learning objectives for each individual/family attending session; provide banking and money management, transit, hygiene, and safety training.

Job Function

  • Oversee direct case management services for 30-35 ORR-eligible beneficiaries, aligning with client Self-Sufficiency Plans and federal regulations.
  • Jointly develop and implement a Self-Sufficiency Plan (SSP) with the client to support the goals of the client's achieving economic self-sufficiency and successfully resettling in Arizona. Ensure compliance with 45 CFR Part 400, including services to support refugees in achieving economic self-sufficiency and successful resettlement in Arizona.
  • Follow the standard of operating procedure for the case management services that include documents of the clients' services. Participate in gathering and maintaining data and other information necessary for programmatic assessment, analysis, and reporting and prepare reports. Work to ensure all ORR eligibles have meaningful services for which they are eligible.
  • Follow and complete SSP plans, and closure summaries for quality assurance and ensure accurate and timely case file reporting. Coordinate information and/or in-service to community agencies who are part of a client's joint care team.
  • Provide education training to an array of clients and stakeholders. Coordinate efforts and facilitate meetings with community partners, and stakeholders in the program area.
  • Coordinate resources for program areas at the state and local levels and strategies with partners to advance successful service for ORR-eligible beneficiaries.
  • Assist in updating clients' family self-sufficiency budgets on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide linguistically and culturally compatible services Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Skills Required: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles Knowledge of available social services and resources for refugees Oral and written communication Interpreting program policies and procedures Tracking funding and resource development Planning, and outlining philosophy, objectives, goals and techniques for accomplishment Using a variety of computer software packages (e.g., Excel, Word, databases, Access, PowerPoint, Google Suite, etc.)
