Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Supervision
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of veterinary technicians and support staff, ensuring effective performance and adherence to clinic protocols. 
  • Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to enhance the technical skills and professional development of the team. 
  • Coordinate staff schedules, manage workflow, and ensure optimal coverage during peak times. 
Clinical Support
  • Assist veterinarians with medical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and surgical interventions, including anesthesia monitoring and post-operative care. 
  • Perform advanced technical procedures such as catheter placements, blood draws, dental cleanings, and radiographic imaging. 
  • Oversee and ensure the proper use and maintenance of medical equipment and instruments.
 Patient Care
  • Provide compassionate care to patients, including feeding, grooming, and administering medications as prescribed. 
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, behavior, and response to treatments, and report any abnormalities to the veterinary team. 
  • Assist with triage and emergency care, ensuring prompt and effective responses to critical situations. 
Client Communication:
  •  Educate pet owners on treatment plans, preventive care, and home care instructions, addressing any questions or concerns with empathy and professionalism. 
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication between clients and the veterinary team to ensure comprehensive care. 
Administrative Duties
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and diagnostic results. 
  • Manage inventory and ordering of medical supplies, ensuring the clinic is well-stocked and equipment is in good working order.
  •  Assist with appointment scheduling, billing, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Quality Assurance
  • Ensure adherence to clinic protocols and standards of care, conducting regular reviews and assessments to maintain high-quality service. 
  • Implement and enforce safety and infection control measures to protect both patients and staff.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role. 
  • Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician program. 
  • Current and valid Veterinary Technician license in the state of Florida is strongly preferred. 
  • Advanced technical skills, including proficiency in anesthesia, radiology, and laboratory procedures. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team effectively, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. 
  • High level of accuracy in medical record-keeping and diagnostic procedures.

 Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in specialty areas such as anesthesia or dentistry strongly desired. 
  • Experience with advanced diagnostic imaging techniques, including radiography and ultrasound. 
  • Proficiency in veterinary software and electronic medical records
