ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY TRAINING PROGRAMS

Are you willing to support Psych NP Students and their preceptors, directly supervise Psychiatric NP Fellows by developing and plan rotation opportunities to enhance the breadth and depth of the training experience here at Lynn Community Health Center?

  • The Associate Director of Psychopharmacology Training and Development (AD) is responsible for facilitating the effective integration of behavioral health (especially psychiatric practice) by establishing relationships with graduate nursing programs and medical schools (and other institutions as appropriate) to recruit and train interns, oversee the LCHC fellowship program, streamline onboarding of psychiatric staff, and ensure compliance with relevant grants. The AD will collaborate with the Director of Psychopharmacology to support the vision of the health center to provide high quality integrated care and to be a competitive site for trainees, residents, and fellows.

In this role you will:

  • Authority to direct and support employees daily work activities. Direct responsibility for undertaking the following employment actions: interviewing, hiring, staffing, termination, corrective action. Coordinate with Director of Psychopharm, Nursing leadership, Team Medical Directors and/or BH Lead, as appropriate.
  • Conduct Performance reviews of supervisees’ core competencies and ensure high quality clinical care, including review of Patient Satisfaction Survey results, Outcome Measures, Productivity reports, etc.
  • Mentor new psychiatric staff.
  • Proactively assess BH staff knowledge gaps and take steps to recommend and assign additional training or continuing education as needed.
  • Coordinate training and mentoring of Behavioral Health clinical staff and students with the Director of BH Training and Director of Psychopharmacology, when applicable.

The successful applicant will offer:

    • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s or doctoral degree in nursing, physician’s assistant studies, osteopathy, or medicine
    • Must hold current board certification in psychiatry/neurology or psychiatric-mental health nursing
    • Must hold a current Massachusetts license with respective Board (medicine, nursing), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license, and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration (MCSR)

    • 2-3 years’ supervisory or management experience required (can include supervision of predoctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, and other staff)
    • Prior work and knowledge in a medical setting and/or behavioral health integration preferred
    • Conceptual and program development skills, excellent oral and written communication abilities and demonstrated human relations and team building experience and skill
    • Previous experience in participating in quality improvement activities and program development
