Job DescriptionJob Description- Job involves handling 24 Pre-Op/Phase 2 and 19 PACU beds
- Requires at least 1.5 years of experience
- Does not accept first-time travelers
- Patient types include infants to geriatric patients, Endo patients, and Ambulatory/Elective, Acute care/Trauma patients
- Patient ratios vary based on acuity levels, presence of airways, ages, comorbidities, or any special monitoring
- Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Must have completed a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing and be registered with the South Dakota Board of Nursing
- Skills required include Critical Care experience, competencies with ICU cases, IV insertion, ventilator training, epidural/PCA set up/initiation, initiation of blood product transfusions, competency with administration and monitoring of moderate sedation, and critical thinking
- Support on the unit includes CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, resource nurses, RT team, hospitalists, and anesthesia/CRNA
- Uses EPIC for charting and Omnicell for equipment
- May be required to float within scope of practice
- Orientation includes general facility orientation and a 1-week long orientation for different departments
- Scheduling involves four 10-hour shifts from 2030-0700 with weekend rotation and call requirements
- Holiday expectations involve rotation between call teams and working two holidays per year
- Time off requests go through the Manager and none will be considered during the first 3 weeks of August annually
- Scrub color is navy blue and free parking is available in a parking garage.
